- INTRAA held the 8th Annual Transgender Day of Remembrance.
- INTRAA celebrated the midterm election results, including the first-ever openly transgender person elected to a statewide office in Hawaii.
- INTRAA also looks forward to working with the newly-elected democratically-controlled House of Representatives in Indiana. We also look forward to continuing to educate members of the Indiana Senate on issues that affect trans people in Indiana.
- INTRAA representatives met with Representative Patrick Baurer (D) prior to the election to discuss gender identity, civil rights, and marriage.
- INTRAA representatives have scheduled a meeting with Representative Brian Bosma (R) just after the election.
- INTRAA expanded its Board of Directors from 11 to 14, re-electing 3 board members and electing 6 new directors. Five board members continue serving the second year of a two-year term.
- We held the first meeting of the 2006-07 Board of Directors and elected new officers. Under the new structure, a president, chair, and secretary/treasurer were elected. The leadership team is completed by a liaison from the INTRAA Education Fund.
- Advocates met with school officials to advocate on behalf of a family with a gender variant child being harrassed in school.
- INTRAA submitted four proposals for workshops to be presented at the upcoming FORGE Forward Transgender Conference 2007 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- Planning continues for for a January 2007 kickoff meeting of TransFortWayne group. Please contact the Fort Wayne Area Coordinator, , to get involved.
