Another Direction for me
[moved to forum by moderator]
One of my sites, The Indiana State News Center and Discussion, are your neighbors and take pride in the internet community, especially for my self since I am a transgenderd woman.
Every day, I speak for viewers of all stations mentioned on the site. That is why I gain perspective and that is why I give viewers their opinions on my issues.
I tell you this because my site is in a fight for survival. Current anchor policies favor a two male anchor duo should a female co-anchor take the day off for any reason at all, casuing viewers like myself become easily offended.
I ask that everyone does not let news directors speak for them. If my work is important to you. If you value my contributions to the issues about television news in Indiana, I need your help. I am asking all news directors that you want to preserve female anchors and reporters, regardless on anchoring experience and that you want a choice for local news for those who are offended.
I have lauched a site caled "Preserve Female Anchors" located at PreserveFemAnchors.Tripod.com. I ask that viewers visit that site to send an email voicing your concerns. That one simplae act will send a very strong message. It will tell news directors that you want a female anchor's point of view on a news cast and tell then you want another choice for local news when a viewer is offenended by a two male anchor duo.
Sincerely yours,
Aeverine "The ZinnDozer" Nieves
