TDOR this year

I always get depressed around this time of year. Sometimes I think it's about the holidays and the impending family stress. Sometimes I think it's just the loss of daylight and the colder weather... but in truth, I love fall, so I realize it's something more. The Annual Transgender Day of Remembrance is held in November each year. It's a difficult time for me because this is a time when we are confronted with the violence in a very direct way that is so prevalent in our society and so often disproportionately focused on transgender people.

I was reading elsewhere on the site and noticed that last year's project manager wrote up a nice piece about how TDOR went.

If you haven't been before, I encourage you to attend. It is powerful, moving, difficult, but ultimately triumphant as we are able to gain strength from one another as we Remember Our Dead.
