NCTE Releases Voter Guide for Transgender Persons

The National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE) has published a Voter Guide for Transgender Persons. This guide includes important information on voters' rights and strategies for navigating polling places.

There is some information that is specific to Indiana that should be conveyed as well.

  • A state issued ID is required to vote on Election Day in Indiana. For more information on Voter ID, please download the The Photo ID Advisory from the Secretary of State.
  • To check your voter registration status, visit the Statewide Voter Registration System homepage.
  • Convicted fellons can legally vote in Indiana, so long as they are not currently serving a prison sentence.
  • You can vote at the Election Board office any day before the election with proper identification. To find the Election Board office in your county, please visit Statewide Voter Registration System homepage and find your county's contact information.

If you have problems voting on election day or before, please contact The Election Protection Coalition at 1-866-OUR-VOTE or call INTRAA toll-free at 1-888-657-1854.
