Anybody out there.........
Anybody out there?
Since coming out to my wife and a few close friends as a M2F I've found forums a tremendous help to me. One in particular. But now I'm wanting to relate to some TG folk here in the red state of Indiana but there is very little activity on these forums. Anybody up for getting these forums revived?
I hereby pledge to visit everyday and make at least one post. If I end up talking just to myself for a couple weeks I guess I'll drop it.
Hope to hear from someone...
Debbie
Another Direction for me
One of my sites, The Indiana State News Center and Discussion, are your neighbors and take pride in the internet community, especially for my self since I am a transgenderd woman.
Every day, I speak for viewers of all stations mentioned on the site. That is why I gain perspective and that is why I give viewers their opinions on my issues.
I tell you this because my site is in a fight for survival. Current anchor policies favor a two male anchor duo should a female co-anchor take the day off for any reason at all, casuing viewers like myself become easily offended.
I ask that everyone does not let news directors speak for them. If my work is important to you. If you value my contributions to the issues about television news in Indiana, I need your help. I am asking all news directors that you want to preserve female anchors and reporters, regardless on anchoring experience and that you want a choice for local news for those who are offended.
Question of the day?
I tend to ask a LOT of questions of people I meet. Often I know the answer, I want to know if THEY do. How a person answers a question when they assume that you don't know better can tell you a lot about what kind of person they are deep inside beyond the mask they use in public. So for my first question: Are you a man or are you a woman, or are you a trans?
Day of Remembrance
Hey, everybody! As I wrote in my totally inadequate bio, the 2004 Transgender Day of Remembrance was a galvanizing experience for me, inspiring me to become an active, dues-paying member of INTRAA and in fact inspiring me to become the project manager for the 2005 Day of Remembrance when a volunteer was needed. This year I have had to set aside this project to acommodate a long-term personal goal, not a truly difficult decision to make but bittersweet, and I am writing now in part to inspire others to participate in an event which certainly changed me in many ways.
What follows is a description of the event we created last year for Indianapolis, as I remember it. I certainly remember that it could not have happened without the hard work of many volunteers before and at the event: thank you! And, please forgive me any missing or incorrect details; feel free to respond with your own memories and thoughts about what made it important for you!
Karr sought treatment in "sex change" clinic?
here is something that may be getting more headlines . . . we should keep our eyes on
Ramsey suspect moved for U.S. flight By SUTIN WANNABOVORN, Associated Press Writer
Sun Aug 20, 7:20 AM ET
The suspect in the murder of JonBenet Ramsey was escorted to Bangkok's international airport Sunday for a flight to the United States where he will face charges in the killing of the 6-year-old beauty queen.
John Mark Karr looked solemn as a dozen Thai police officers escorted him out of an immigration jail into a white van. Wearing a red shirt and tie, the 41-year-old school teacher said nothing to reporters who shouted questions at him.
Chasing Transphobias
Most of you probably do not know who I am. Yesterday, I was informed that I was no longer to use handcuffs as a tool to chase anti-transgender individuals since it scares many.
I have been trying to confront a few anti-transgender (or transphobic) individual. I even called one of the persons a transphobic.
I made headlines recently (in Febuary) by gaetting a homophobic neighbor evicted for lewdness, disorderly conduct, and property damage.
This will probably be the first issue that I will be talking about in January when I begin NO SIR GIFTS' Transgendered Women's Suppoort Group.
