Columbus Gay/Straight Alliance Picnic
Well, we added 6 more people to the tranny road show this week as the INTRAA field ops team (now 13 strong) trekked to Columbus, Indiana for the annual picnic of the Gay/Straight Alliance. The caravan consisted of 5 cars carrying a delegation of 4 SOFFAs, 3 trans guys, and 6 trans women, all eager to reconnect with old friends, make new friends, and of course, have fabulous food!
Mill Race Park is really nice. The food was fabulous, and so were the people! All told there were about 40 people there give or take. We renewed acquaintances with folks from Seymour PFLAG, Columbus Peace Fellowship, Cummins, Unitarian Church of Columbus, and of course, Columbus GSA. I highly recommend to fellow organizations to organize your own delegation to the GSA picnic next year. You won't regret it!
Special thanks to the INTRAA folks who came out for this effort: Tasha, Angel, Vivian, Jessica, Erin, Chantel, Cianan, Neil, Nick, Bryan, Bruce, and Claire.
When Bryan and I got home, I crashed pretty hard, had some ice cream (it was HOT today!), took my shower, and watched some TV. Whew, it's has been a long day! What started for me and Bruce this morning at the statewide IE meeting, spilled into a luncheon with IE board members and donors, then to the picnic, has ended listening to soft music with cats draped over laps, and the quite ticking of computer keys coming from both Bryan and my laptops. Another day in the life....
Won't you join us next time? You don't have to wait long. The Fort Wayne Pride is just two weeks away. We are planning to go up on the 29th. Love to have you along!
